NEWS / EVENT BLOG ITEMS - SCROLL DOWN TO VIEW ALL
March 20 - April 5, 2025 - Hi all, I'm very excited to be a part of this upcoming exhibition "Witness", organized by my longtime friend Peter Hristoff, displaying artwork from "former & current members of the School of Visual Arts community - alumni, faculty, and staff - who have addressed or continue to address the impact of HIV/AIDS in their work, in their lives and in our shared history."

"It also includes work by four SVA colleagues who we lost to the virus, which in its early years was quickly called 'The Plague.' To witness a plague is to be irrevocably changed, as we were recently again made aware. The statements and artworks presented are a reminder of our strength and our sorrow, of our fears, our loss, our anger, and our hope."

Mark your calendars for the opening reception, Thu, Mar. 20 from 6-8pm, at SVA's Flatiron Project Space: 133/141 West 21st St, NYC. A fully illustrated catalog will be made available to the public at the opening. Show closes 4/5/2025.

The show is a part of broader programming called "TO LOVE-TO DIE: TO FIGHT. TO LIVE. Art and Activism in the Time of AIDS" - a series of lectures, screenings, & exhibitions that include panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt and a Quilt-making workshop - click on the image to be linked to the website for details on all that.

Please stop by if you can!
